In a interview with Michael Spedden on 97 Underground radio, Chuck Billy, the lead singer of Testament, discussed the band’s upcoming plans. Amidst recording and touring, including a European visit in the summer, the focus is on completing a new record.
The goal is to write and record before their July tour. Before this, Testament will play two special shows in Connecticut and West Virginia featuring ‘The Legacy’ and ‘The New Order’ in full.
These albums will be re-released in March on Nuclear Blast Records. Taking a brief break from recording, the band aims to celebrate their early records with fans before returning to the studio for the new album.
Testament guitarist Alex Skolnick updated Radioactive MikeZ on the progress of the band’s upcoming album, following 2020’s “Titans Of Creation.” The pandemic disrupted their plans, and drummer changes, including Dave Lombardo and now Chris Dovas, also influenced the timeline.

Despite challenges, Skolnick noted significant progress with numerous digital sketches already recorded. The focus now is on consolidating, arranging, and developing the best parts, adding vocals to shape the upcoming album.
Skolnick emphasized that there’s no fixed release date for the next Testament album, emphasizing the band’s commitment to quality over speed. Chris Dovas, the current drummer, acknowledged the initial pressure of joining a group with renowned predecessors like Lombardo and Hoglan.
However, after two full tours, Dovas feels more at ease, practicing extensively to meet expectations. He expressed excitement about working closely with Eric on the album’s creative process, detailing the unique, organic approach the band takes, highlighting the success of their decades-long career.
