The controversial track “Animal (Fuck Like a Beast)” was removed from the album by Capitol Records due to its labeling as one of its “Filthy 15” songs. The song was later released as a single in the UK in 1984, becoming a highly sought-after item in North America.

The 1998 reissue features the original track list with the song reinstated. The song “I Wanna Be Somebody” was so popular that VH1 placed it in their list of the “Top 100 Hard Rock Songs” of all time.

The album’s songs have been covered by other bands, including Tiamat and Anders Manga, Children of Bodom and In Aeternum, Fallen Man, Lullacry, Fozzy, Alghazanth, Sentenced and more.

The song “Tormentor” was also featured in the films The Dungeonmaster (1984) and TerrorVision (1986).
