If you thought AnomiC had already emptied the tank with “End the Plague” think again.
Just a couple of months after unleashing that furious assault, the Amsterdam-based thrash/death metal outfit is back with another heavyweight blow. Their latest single “Ode to Them” features guest vocals from Tom Landkroon and digs even deeper into the dark, uncompromising world the band has been building toward their upcoming album “The Spider’s Code”.
Where “End the Plague” hit like nature ultimate revenge against humanity. Packed with relentless riffs, savage drumming and apocalyptic energy “Ode to Them” shifts the focus from destruction to manipulation. The song explores themes of control, corruption and the pressure placed on artists by the modern music industry, delivering its message through crushing grooves, haunting melodies and an atmosphere that grows heavier with every minute.
The addition of Tom Landkroon gives the track an extra edge, adding another powerful voice to AnomiC already aggressive sound. Rather than relying on speed alone “Ode to Them” balances melody and brutality, proving the band is just as comfortable creating tension as they are unleashing chaos.
Fans who discovered AnomiC through their 2024 debut EP “Opacity” already know the band formula: old-school death metal heaviness, razor-sharp thrash riffs and modern production that lets every instrument breathe without sacrificing raw aggression. Influences from classic extreme metal can certainly be heard, but AnomiC continue carving out an identity that’s unmistakably their own.
With “End the Plague” and now “Ode to Them” the band is steadily raising expectations for “The Spider’s Code”. If these two singles are any indication, the upcoming record won’t simply be a collection of songs, it promises to be an intense statement delivered with precision, power and zero compromise.
One thing is becoming increasingly clear: AnomiC aren’t just releasing singles, they’re building momentum. And if they continue on this path “The Spider’s Code” could become the album that pushes them onto many more metal fans playlists.
