Tarja Turunen a legend in symphonic metal, is prepared to reveal her darkest and heaviest vision to date. The former Nightwish vocalist will release her new studio album “Frisson Noir” on June 12, 2026. 10-track journey blending cinematic orchestration, operatic power and crushing metal intensity.
Leading the charge is the first single “At Sea” released in March, giving fans an early taste of the album dramatic and heavy direction. Tarja has described the record as her most intense work to date, pushing deeper into darker atmospheres while maintaining her signature elegance.
The album also features an impressive lineup of guests, including Dani Filth of Cradle of Filth, Apocalyptica, Marko Hietala and Chad Smith and promising a powerful fusion of styles and personalities.
To support the release Tarja will hit the road on the “Frisson Tour 2026” bringing this new era to stages worldwide alongside special guests. With “Frisson Noir” she’s not just returning she’s evolving into something even heavier.
