Tarja Turunen New Video “Tango” Video With Apocalyptica

Tarja Turunen and Apocalyptica have made something dark, dramatic and heavy to the screen. Tarja has released an official music video for “Tango”. Track from her 2026 studio album “Frisson Noir”, featuring the Finnish cello-metal masters.

Forget the idea that a tango needs to stay on the dance floor. This one starts with a seductive rhythm taken by cellos before moving into something much heavier. And when Tarja lets her voice loose, the song takes on a whole new level of drama.

The new video is presented as a mini movie, getting Tarja together on screen with all three members of Apocalyptica: Eicca Toppinen, Perttu Kivilaakso and Paavo Lötjönen.

From a Seductive Tango to a Heavy Metal Storm

“Tango” opens with the sound of Apocalyptica cellos setting the mood. There is a dark, almost hypnotic feel to the rhythm, dragging you into the song before the heavier parts take over.

The track builds slowly with Tarja moving from soft, delicate vocals to the powerful operatic voice that fans know so well. As the music grows, drums and guitars push the song toward a massive, cinematic mood.

That contrast is what makes the collaboration interesting. The cellos bring their own weight and character, while the guitars and drums give the track its metal punch. Tarja moves between the two worlds without losing the drama that makes her voice stand out.

Apocalyptica have spent years showing how much heaviness can come from a cello and “Tango” gives them another chance to bring that sound into the spotlight.

Tarja and Apocalyptica Share the Screen

The official music video takes the song dark atmosphere and turns it into a cinematic experience.

Described as a mini movie, the video features Tarja alongside all three Apocalyptica members. Rather than simply showing the musicians performing, it brings the collaboration together in a visual setting that matches the track dramatic mood.

With a tango rhythm, heavy cello parts and Tarja operatic delivery, there is plenty to work with here. The result is a meeting of classical influence and metal that feels right at home in both artists worlds.

A Limited Vinyl Release Is Coming in November

There is more news for fans who still love collecting physical releases.

A strictly limited-edition 10-inch vinyl single of “Tango” is scheduled to arrive on November 27th, 2026. Only 500 copies will be available worldwide.

The release includes:

  • Side A: “Tango” (feat. Apocalyptica)
  • Side B: “Tää Tango – Piano Demo” and “Tää Tango – Band Demo”

The two demo versions are the real attraction for collectors. Both are exclusive to the physical release and will not be available on digital streaming platforms.

With just 500 copies planned, this is a release fans of Tarja, Apocalyptica and physical metal collectibles may want to keep an eye on.

Watch “Tango” Now

Released on June 12th, 2026, “Frisson Noir” is the home of this collaboration and the new video gives “Tango” another moment in the spotlight.

Tarja powerful vocals, Apocalyptica cello-driven heaviness, and the song dramatic build make this a collaboration worth checking out. It is not every day that a tango turns into a cinematic metal storm, but these musicians know how to make the combination work.
